Gertrude was baptised at Hartley Wintney on the 22nd of October 1857. Their family home was a large house in the village known as Holmwood.
Her father died in January 1849. Gertrude spent her childhood at Holmwood.
She married the Rev. Charles Powell Berryman on the 26th of July 1879. When they married her husband was Rector in the Parish of Pitney in Somerset. In 1881 they were living at The Rectory with their eldest son Richard.
In 1891 they were at Freefolk Manor near Laverstoke in Hampshire.
In 1896 he was appointed Vicar at Camberley. They moved to The Vicarage attached to St Michael's Church in London Road.
After just six years as Vicar here her husband died and was buried at St Michael's.
In 1911 Gertrude had moved to Guildford. Her home here was known as Delaford and it was situated in London Road. She lived her until 1932.
Gertrude was living at Tower House in Guildford when she died on the 25th of April 1938.
