Shirley Jean Gunn, 72, of Loveland, CO., died on December 3, 2007, at her home in Loveland, CO. She was born on October 12, 1935, on the family farm outside of Ethan, South Dakota.

She was the 4th of 12 children born to Michael Henry and Josephine Mary (Schoenfelder) Weber.

On June 27, 1959 she married John F. “Jack” Gunn in Mitchell, South Dakota.

Shirley has lived in Loveland since 1997, moving back here from Trinidad, Colorado. She had previously lived in Loveland since 1986. Mrs. Gunn worked as a wife, mother and homemaker for most of her life. She later owned and operated the Bronze Safari Tanning Salon in Loveland for 8 years, before retiring in 2005. She treasured the many friendships that she had developed during that time.

Shirley was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts, and was especially proud of her spoon and enormous angel collections. After retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband Jack in their motor home and spending winters in Mission, Texas. She especially loved spending time with her family and visiting with friends.

Shirley is survived by her husband Jack of Loveland, son, Jack Gunn (Francie) of Loveland, daughters, Lt Col Pennie Pavlisin (Col James Pavlisin) of Hill AFB, Utah, and Travis AFB, California, respectively, Cindy Gerk (Dave) of Greeley, CO, and Tracie Gunn (Bob Roehrich) of Greeley, CO, her sons, Darren Gunn (Brooke) of Loveland, Darcey Gunn (Ann) of Loveland, and Derrick Gunn (Jodie) of Pierce, Colorado. She is also survived by brothers, Sylvester Weber (Patsy) of Delta, Floyd Weber (Pat) of Loveland, Tom Weber (Karen) of Yankton, SD, Michael Weber of Golden and Bernie Weber (Kathy) of Fort Collins, and sisters Dorothy Thome of Mitchell, SD, Arlene Ellis (Bob) of Reliance, SD, Yvonne Krumm (Herman) of Farmer, SD, and Theresa Weber of Mitchell, SD. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Don Weber, sisters, Anna Mae Hall and Mary Margaret Weber, grandson, Nick Roehrich and granddaughter, Jill Norman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM, Friday, December 7, 2007, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland. A recitation of the rosary will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 6, 2007, at Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday. Interment will take place at Loveland Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Shirley J. Gunn Memorial Fund in care of Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 N. Lincoln Avenue, Loveland, CO 80537
