Obituary for Irene Abbott
Thursday, December 3rd, 1936 - Saturday, September 18th, 2021

Abbott; Jessie "Irene" (Sweet) - Passed away peacefully in her 85th year at the John M Parrott Centre with family at her side on Saturday, September 18th, 2021. Predeceased by her beloved husband William Abbott. Proud mother of Sharon McFarlane (Rick) and Don Abbott (Barb Marshall). Caring grandmother to Shawn (Christine), Nicole (Chris), great grandmother to Felicia and Jeremiah. Irene enjoyed spending family time with them and was always so happy to hear what was happening in their lives.

Sadly missed by her siblings late Lewis (late Irene), late Ray (Lona), Delmar (Shirley), Norma (Art) Thompson, late Meryl, Shirley, Garry (Catherine), late Steven (late Sharon), late Eleanor (late Gary) Sedore, and Ann (Sandy) Sutherland. Her family was everything to her and nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her brothers and sisters. Irene was also greatly loved by many nieces and nephews and will be missed by them as well. Predeceased by parents Harold and Violet Sweet.

A special thank you to the staff of the J M Parrott Centre who took such good care of Irene over the past year. She got to know several staff members and really enjoyed the many interactions and conversations with them. Thank you all for the gift of your time. It meant so much to Irene and her family.

A private graveside service and interment will take place at Camden V Cemetery. Arrangements in the care of Wartman Funeral Home - Napanee
