Obituary
Andrew Henry Guzzo Jr., 78, husband to the late Olga Leticia Garcia passed away on September 23, 2021 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, IL surrounded by those he loved. Born on December 17, 1942 in Chicago, IL to the late Andrew Henry Sr. and Elizabeth Lavergne Guzzo, he will be dearly missed.

Andrew Jr. attended Crane Tech Highschool in Chicago, IL and loved drafting. He worked with his father at his shoe repair shops, Clarkton Shoe Repair and Clarkton Shoe Repair and Dry-cleaning, both located on Clark Street in the Gold Coast area near the lake in Chicago. Both store fronts still exist today. He owned a Sunoco gas station in Broadview, IL which was managed by his brother Alan. Andrew Sr. also managed a Burger King where he accidentally bleached the floors white by using too much lye when trying to remove the grease. On top of that, he worked in the farebox industry as an inspector at Keene Corporation, started as a shipping and receiving supervisor, and climbed the ranks to a field technician. He traveled the United States to assist the transportation industry with the installation, repairs, and testing of their farebox systems. General Farebox Incorporated, GFI Genfare, SPX Genfare and GENFARE for 41 years. Described by his fellow co-workers as "the brick and mortar of the company and was an integral part of the foundation." Andrew then transitioned to the quality assurance department as an inspector after deciding he did not want to travel as much and work closer to home.

Andrew was married to Olga L. Guzzo for almost 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, building RC model planes, was mechanically inclined, spent hours entering programs into his computer when they first came out, enjoyed customizing and playing games on his computer, loved playing video games and gardening with his wife in his later years.

He is survived by his children: Dawn Elizabeth Piazza of Las Vegas, NV. Tracy Lynn (Robert) Staadt of Lake in the Hills, IL; Deborah Marie Guzzo of Chicago, IL; Diane Irene (Karl) Stone of Crystal Lake, IL; and Andrew Henry Guzzo III of Wood Dale, IL.
