Mark W. Johnson, 57, died Friday night after a long illness with brights disease at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Walker, where he had been kindly cared for during his long illness. He was born in Wardsboro, but his home was in this town for many years. He was superintendent of farm work on the Balestier estate some time, and at one time was superintendent on a farm on Fishers Island. He leaves a son, Carl Johnson of Wilmington, and several grandchildren. The funeral was held Sunday at 9:30, Rev. Mr. Coggswell officiating, and the body was taken to South Wardsboro for burial beside his wife, who died several years ago.
