Joe William Blackwell, 70, of Jonesville, SC, died Thursday, November 15, 2007, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born March 19, 1937, in Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late Loyd Eugene and Zillie (Parker) Blackwell.

Retired from Vulcan Material Company, he was the owner and operator of Joe's Mobile Home Park and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn (Hill) Blackwell; a son, Tim Garner and his wife Amy of Pacolet; four daughters, Libby Barrett and her husband Jimmy, and Jean Motts and her husband Anthony, all of Gaffney, Penny Baty and her husband Kyle of Pacolet, and Linda Garner of Jonesville; two sisters, Margie Arrowood and Ruby Westmoreland, both of Gaffney; fourteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Libby Millwood; and two great-grandsons, Lucas Lee Barrett and Jeffrey Todd Millwood.

Visitation was 7:00-9:00 PM Saturday, November 17, 2007, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 18, 2007, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel conducted by the Rev. Chris Norris and the Rev. Sidney Weaver. Burial was in Heritage Memorial Gardens in Roebuck.
