ED BECK, JR.

Ed Beck, Jr, age 80, of Billings died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Billings Deaconess Medical Center, after many years of failing health. He was surrounded by his devoted sister, Harriet Kreiner; daughter, Sandie Quam and special friend, Marvin Wall.
Ed was born July 18, 1920, in Billings, the son of Edward James and Mary (Streitmater) Beck. He graduated from Billings High School.
He married Betty May Pyle in 1938 in Hardin. Ed served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. They lived in the Seattle area. He returned to Billings in 1958 and was a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways. He later worked as a meat cutter. Ed was co-owner of Midland Foods, Inc. and the Meat Discounter.
Ed was an avid golfer and bowler and loved to fish He was a member of the American Legion and served on the honor guard for many years.
Survivors include two daughters; Sandie K. (Tom) Quam of Billings and Linda (Jerry) Breen of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; a daughter-in-law, Lucy Beck of Venice, Fla.; a sister, Harriet Kreiner of Billings; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jerry and James Edward Beck; a brother, Donald Beck; and a sister, Marian E Cook.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at the Billings LDS Stake Center, 2929 Belvedere Drive. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
