After being confined to her bed about a week, Mrs Orpha L Clark, wife of WA Clark, died at her home in St Paris on Tuesday from an attack of peritonitis. Mrs Clark was the daughter of Samuel and Mary Briggs and was born in St Paris on April 24, 1875, being past her 41st year of age. She was the youngest of eleven children; the other ten who are living are as follows: One brother, LB Briggs of Tippecanoe City; nine sisters, Mesdames SA Lewis, James Davis, JC Brokaw, AJ Davis, Jacob Weatherhead, AC Niece and Miss Letitia of St Paris; Mrs Benjamin Kessler of Tippecanoe City, Mrs William Amos of Bushnell, IL. The aged mother, Mrs Mary Briggs, also survives. Her early life was spent in St Paris. On March 6, 1898, she married William A Clark and moved to Tippecanoe City, where she remained until a few years ago when Mr Clark purchased the Clarks variety store and moved his family here. Three children were born to them, two having preceded her in death. A son, aged 14 years, survives. Rev Walter C Nash from the Methodist Church will conduct the funeral services on Friday. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
