Leland John Sparks

Pleasanton, formerly of Fremont

Born in San Francisco to Leland John parks and Allie M. Sparks. He was the grandson of Gov, John Sparks of Nevada.
After a minor fall he was receiving care at a local rehabilitation facility. While there he suffered a cardiac arrest.
He served in the U.S. Military from 1945-1952 and was honorably discharged.
While stationed in San Diego, he managed to win the heart of Patricia Catherine Clarkin. They were married in San Diego, Feb. 1948.
He was hired by Pacific Bell as a lineman and installer. He retired in Nov. 1985, after 33 years.
He and Patty raised their eight children in Fremont, who in turn gave them twenty grandchildren.
Lee is survived by his children John Sparks, Tom Sparks, Patty Ann Radovich, Tony Sparks, Kathy Buesse, and George Sparks. He is preceded in death by his wife of 2 years Patty, twin daughters NancyJo Edwards and Diane Abrao, and grandson Samuel T. Radovich.
There will be a small gathering for family and invited close friends.
