He was the son of David & Hannah (Talmadge) Atwater and the great grandson of my ancestor, JONATHAN & RUTH (PECK) ATWATER. He married (1) Mehitable Clark about 1773, (2) Sarah (Atwater) Brintall, widow of Willard Brintnall and daughter of Jonathan & Sarah (Beach) Atwater, and (3) Esther (Northrop) Carrington, widow of Elias Carrington and daughter of Ephraim & Sarah (Gunn) Northrop. There were no children born to this union.
Wife #1 died November 30, 1784 aged 31 yrs; Wife #2 was born June 21, 1752 and died September 6, 1800 aged 47 yrs. (MVR). Wife #3 was born September 30, 1744 and died April 14, 1818 aged 72 yrs. (TSM)
