Lestock Peach Wilson was the son of Lestock Wilson, a captain for the East India Company and founder of Palmer, Wilson & Company, a shipping company. He was a partner in the East India firm of Palmer, McKillop. Wilson was married at Edgeworthstown, County Longford, Ireland on January 1, 1829 to Frances Maria Edgeworth, a daughter of Anglo-Irish author and inventor Richard Lovell Edgeworth and younger sister of author Maria Edgeworth.

Lestock Peach Wilson was buried at St John Hackney on July 22, 1868.
