Cheryl worked as a bookkeeper/accountant for DRW in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, for several years. She retired from the State of Wyoming.
Cheryl loved to go shopping and to buy clothes for her grandchildren. The grandchildren always knew that they would be getting a new wardrobe for Christmas and their birthday! Her favorite shopping stops were Kohls and Lowes. She loved flowers and enjoyed planting various flowers throughout her yard to attract birds that she loved to watch. The highlight of her week was her weekly wine night with her best friend, Vicky. For 20 years, they met Friday night for what they called "wine and whine nights"!
Cheryl developed dementia and fought this progressive disease for the last several years of her life. This disease took time away from her family and loved ones and was difficult for all to understand and accept. It was for her safety to be placed in an assisted living and then Life Care where she passed. During the limited family visits at Life Care, there was nothing that Cheryl loved more than her vanilla shakes. She enjoyed them to the very end.
Cheryl is survived by her three children. Robin Miller, Jody (Steve) Gilliland, and Justin (Brandi) Miller. She had four grandchildren that she loved to spoil and always had a special treat for them when they visited, Parker and Levi Gilliland and Hunter and Kennedy (KJ) Miller.
Her parents Albert and Joyce Makus, and her brothers Jeff and Junior proceeded her in death.
Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, in Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment to follow at Beth El Cemetery.
