Mr. Maggs had lived in Alta for almost fifty years, coming here as a boy with his parents who were among the early homesteaders in the community. He followed the trade of carpenter and builder all his life.
He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Victor Peterson of Holstein; Mrs. J.E. Hill of Hollywood, California; and Miss Pearl Maggs of this place.
The funeral was held from the late home of the deceased on Friday, in charge of the Klan, of which he was a member. Seventy-five Klansmen in full regalia marched in the procession from the Christian church to the house and from the house to the cemetery.
