Mr. Bolander was born February 2, 1912, in Jasper County, the son of Philip and Anna (Ochs) Bolander.
He was co-owner of Borah-Bolander Lumber Company and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Olney Elks, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Bolander is survived by a daughter, Cindy Bolander; granddaughter, Jamie Weitl and her husband, Mike, of Olney; a great-grandson, Bo; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
Memorials may be made to the G.F. Bolander Journalism Scholarship Award at East Richland High School.
