Holly was born on December 25, 1956 in Manitowoc to Valetta "Bonnie" (Weber) Kummer and the late Edwin Kummer.
Holly grew up in Manitowoc prior to moving to the White Lake area during her freshman year of high school. She then graduated from White Lake High School. On June 28, 1975, Holly was united in marriage to Gordon "Digger" Hayes in Langlade.
Holly worked for the White Lake School District, was a floor supervisor at K-Mart and was a partner with her husband Digger, owning and operating Digger's Plumbing and Electric.
Holly had a zest for life, she enjoyed snowmobiling, cross country skiing, camping, family trips and winters in Arizona with Digger, her parents, and her many friends. She was the organizer of parades, themed parties, and games in their Arizona circle.
Holly was all about family. She was a generous mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend, always putting others before herself. She was strong and courageous throughout her health challenges and battle with cancer, never complaining. Her faith carried her.
