Obituary;

Bonnie Kaye Bledsoe Burney, 64, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at her residence.

She was a 1975 graduate of Brainerd High School. She was a member of Church of Jesus where she sang in the choir and a member of the Prayer Group. Bonnie was also a child care provider at the Church of Jesus Nursery.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Milton and Sarah Bledsoe, John and Edith Perkins; mother, Gertie Perkins-Bledsoe-Edwards-Young; brother, Antonio Bledsoe; brother-in-law, Milton Carlisle; and sister-in-law, Sharon Burney.

Survivors include her son, Joshua (Tamiko) Burney, III of Chattanooga; daughters, Lois Burney (Harold) Moss of Lilburn, GA and Eunice Burney (Rodney) Brown of Chattanooga; four grandchildren, ShaLynda Hardley, Oshae Smith, Tawon Colvin, and Divine Burney; four great-grandchildren, Jahreece Smith, ZeShaia Smith, London Smith, and KaDaris Smith; father, Sims (Edith) Bledsoe, Sr. of Chattanooga; brothers, Sims Bledsoe, Jr. and Leon (Patricia) Edwards, both of Indianapolis, IN; sisters, RuthAnn Bledsoe Carlisle, Mary Bledsoe (Alan, Sr.) Bacon, and Andre Bledsoe Fall, all of Indianapolis, IN; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Bonnie will lie in state on Thursday, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Chaplain Alan Bacon, Sr. as the eulogist.

Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens
