Mr. Eagan, 58, a church deacon, died Tuesday (Feb. 27, 1996) in his Hamburg home.
A Blasdell native, he was a graduate of Father Baker High School and Canisius College. He served in the Army, attaining the rank of captain in 1961.
He worked as a production manager for Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Lackawanna from 1965 to 1985 and then worked for a year as plant manager for Eastman Machine.
In 1986, he became assistant director of corporate training for the Erie County Partnership, joining with partnership director Douglas T. Saxton in setting up corporate training programs and becoming sole project director for corporate training.
He was ordained a deacon in 1989 and took pride in his work for the Catholic Diocese. He had served at St. Valentine's Church in South Buffalo and currently was a deacon and pastoral associate at St. Mary's of the Lake.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Buckheit; three daughters, Mary Elizabeth Long of Hamburg, Loretta Murray of Lackawanna and Maureen Gabor of Hamburg; two sons, Kevin of Ellicottville and Michael of Hamburg; his parents, Frank and Katherine of Blasdell; a sister, Cathy Lane of California; and nine grandchildren.
