Kelen B. McCleary, 97, of Clendenin went home to be with the Lord Wednesday September 29, 2021 at home after a short illness.
She was the daughter of the late Loyd Abner and Julia Helton Abner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Clinton Moore Drake McCleary "Willie"; sisters, Maxine Ledford Verna Bruce Pittman and Glenna Smith.
Kelen was a member of the Clendenin United Methodist Church, 50 year member of Thelma Chapter 24 Order of the Eastern Star. For 11 years she taught school in Kentucky and taught 28 years for Kanawha County Schools.
She is survived by: nieces, Patrice Widby (Clarence), Julie Rondeau (Richard), Gwen Woods, Nancy McDerment (who was also her caregiver), Patricia Smithers and Karen Young; and nephews, Richard Hensley and Richard Bazan.
A private graveside service will be 11 AM Monday October 4, 2021 at Clendenin Memorial Gardens with Pastor Don Stilgenbauer officiating. Matics Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at maticsfuneralhome.com.
