Funeral services for Jo Gossett, age 76, of Sulphur Springs, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at First Baptist Church, in Sulphur Springs. Rev. Roy Prather, Mark Gossett and Dr. Bob McCartney will officiate.Interment will follow services in Black Oak Cemetery, with grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 t0 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 26, 2007, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Gossett passed away at 1:55 a.m., on Sunday, November 25, 2007, at The Hospice of East Texas, in Tyler. She was born in Mabank, Texas, on August 12, 1931, the daughter of Jim and Ellen Jones Shelton. She married James V. "Jim" Gossett, in Garland, on January 27, 1951. He survives.Mrs. Gossett was a homemaker and co-owner of J.V. Gossett Construction Company. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and the D.A.R. She was a former matron of Eastern Star and a former Sunday School teacher.Other survivors include: a son, Mark Gossett, and his wife, Lynda, of Clarksville; a daughter, Rebecca Marty, and her husband, Tommy, of San Antonio; a sister, Bernice Prather, of Mineola, brothers-in-law, Charlie McAnalley and Marvin S. Hollenshead; grandchildren, Jonathan Gossett, Andrew Gossett, Sarah Gossett, Rachel Castleberry, Stacy Dennis, and Melissa Summerlin; and two great-granchildren.She was preceded in death by four sisters, Hyla Hopkins, Annie Gregory, Ethelene McAnalley, and Helen Crow.Memorials may be made to the Black Oak Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, c/o Raynell Frost, 3017 CR 2331, Como, TX, 75431.Arrangements are with Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
