Gary died suddenly at home Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 in San Francisco. Born Nov. 13, 1946 in Poughkeepsie, NY, Gary graduated from F.D. Roosevelt High School in 1964. He served his country as a United States Marine from 1966 to 1970. Shortly after his discharge from the Marine Corps, Gary headed to San Francisco and never looked back. Gary was a long time bartender in S.F. who would always cheer up your day with his smile and service. Gary will always be remembered for the many years of great music he brought to the bar/club scene. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis W. and Lois Jeffers Beers. Survivors include his son, Mark Reichelt of Rhinebeck, NY, and a daughter, Morgan Bannister-Beers of Santa Rosa, CA. He will be sadly missed by his sister, Sharon Burns of Dallas, TX; and three brothers, John Beers of Hyde Park, Thomas Beers of Poughkeepsie, and Richard Beers of Schroon Lake, NY; along with seven nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in Gary's name.
