Linda Lee Purdy, 57, Atchison, died Thursday, April 22, 1999, at her home
the body was cremated. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Prudy was formerly employed by Continental Can Cl, Lenexa; Bededictine College, Atchison; and Midwest Grain Company, Atchison, where she had worked from 1968 until 1998 when she retired because of failing health.
She was born Jan 25, 1942, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer L. and Beatrice Jackson Crain.
Mrs. Prudy attended the First Baptist Church in Atchison, the Order of the Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary, all of Atchison.
She married Max G. Purdy on March 3. 1962, in Kansas City, Kan. He survives of the home. she was preceded in death by a son, Glen Ray Purdy; a brother, Butch Crain; her father, Elmer L. Crain; and her mother-in-law, Edith E. Cavanaugh, who had made her home with them.
Additional survivors include; a daughter, Brenda Henning, Atchison; her mother, Beatrice Crain, Kansas City, Kan; four grandchildren; a brother, David Crain, Pleasant Hill, Mo., ; and three sisters, Anna Arwine, Las Vegas, Nev., Gloria Knight and Sandy Crain, Kansas City, Kan.
