Death came to Mrs. Harriet Lister, of 69 Washington street, yesterday afternoon at 2:30 after a lingering illness due to hardening of the arteries, and her death was not unexpected. She was residing with her daughter, Mrs. Emma L. Hall. The deceased was one of the best known and esteemed women of the city, having resided here since 1851 except for a short period of five years, and she has been a member of the Berean Baptist church for nearly forty-five years. She was born near Halifax, England, in 1841, and is the widow of Ralph Hartley Lister, who died in 1882. When a little girl she left England with her parents, Thomas and Mary (Hallowell) Oliver, who settled in this city.

The funeral will be held in the Hall residence tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and burial at Maplewood cemetery will be private. Rev. Frederick Edmunds, former pastor of [Baptist] churches in Turks and Caicos Islands, British West Indies will be the officiating clergyman.

Surviving the deceased are three children: Mrs. Emma L. Hall and Harry O. Lister, of this city, and Alfred E. Lister, of Gienburn.
