Mr. Ekdahl died Thursday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 5, 1912, in Randolph. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in sociology from Kansas State University. He worked in the statistical section of Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services from 1942 to 1960 and in the Kansas Department of Education from 1960 to 1977 as a program specialist. From 1977 to 1984, he worked at the Bethany Retirement Home in Lindsborg in program interpretation and related assignments.
Mr. Ekdahl served in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1942 to 1946. He was assigned to the staff of the Commander Service Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, in Norfolk, Va. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Lawrence Masonic Lodge No. 6 AF & AM.
He married Lenoir Sjogren on Aug. 14, 1955, in Marquette. She survives at the home.
