Child of J. WOOLFOLK. This child is evidently the twin of Maria Nelson WOOLFOLK (24 AUG 1878--1952), daughter of John Collier & Eliza Atkinson (NELSON) WOOLFOLK, who are buried in Autry A-85. This family was residing in Militia District 921 (Bozeman's District) of Muscogee County, Georgia, in 1880, with two children present in the household: Mariah N. (aged 2 years) and Mary P. (aged 4 months).

Burial record from the sexton's ledger book shows: a child of J. WOOLFOLK was stillborn in Georgia and was buried 24 AUG 1878 in Section 2, Lot 287 [sic - there is no Lot 287 in Section 2] as a non-resident of Columbus, Georgia. The sexton was Abraham ODOM.

This grave is evidently not identifiably marked. It's not certain whether the reported section number (2) is incorrect, or the reported lot number (287), but seems likely this should be 1-287. A list of lot owners for Section 1 shows John WOOLFOLK paid $5.00 for Lot 288 in Section 1 (date of sale not reported). The same list shows Thomas HOXEY paid $5 each fo Lots 285, 286, 287, and 288 in Section 1 (date not reported). A combined list of owners for all lots shows John WOOLFOLK as the owner of Lots 285, 286, 287, and 288 (so perhaps he purchased them from HOXEY?).

Others reported to be in city 1-287 include: John Collier WOOLFOLK (29 MAY 1851--22 JAN 1891); William Gray WOOLFOLK (11 JUL 1822--02 OCT 1903); and Maria Byrd (NELSON) WOOLFOLK (29 NOV 1827--10 JUL 1908). These have marked graves in Lot 85 of Section A in Dolores Autry's "Historic Linwood Cemetery" book (edited by Lea Dowd et al.), Volume 3. Lots 285, 286, 287 and 288 compose a family lot that has a wrought-iron fence around it. Surnames and maiden names here, in addition to WOOLFOLK, include DOZIER and WALKER.
