Tete was a three sport athlete at Ballston Spa High School. He was a member of the 1958 and 1959 Championship Football Teams and was inducted into the Ballston Spa High School Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the National Honor Society. After graduation he attended Northeastern University before serving in the US Air Force for four years, working as a Med Lab Specialist. Later he worked as a lab technician at Albany Medical Center and Saratoga Hospital. For many years he bartended at Joe Collins, Cliff's and Mangino's on Saratoga Lake.
Tete loved his family and friends and especially enjoyed his weekly meals with his brothers and sisters, as long as somebody else was cooking. He was an avid Yankee fan, loved horse racing and you could always find him at the corner barstool at Pennell's. But his greatest joy of all was spending quality time with his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Bernard, Louis, Tony, Jimmy, Albert, Harry and Donald Monaco, and his sisters Theresa Monaco, Sophie Wolfersheim, Jenny Odorizzi, Josephine Dufort and Kathryn D'Ambro. Tete is survived by his children Michael Monaco (Monique) and Shari Monaco; grandchildren Michael, Olivia, Nicolas, and Anthony; brothers Joseph Monaco and Pasquale Monaco (Verna); and many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00am Monday, October 4 at St. Mary's Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. Memorial contributions in memory of Tete may be made to: The Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation 30 Tower Lane, #400 Avon, CT 06001 CDLUSA.org/donate
