Estella M. Addis, 89, of Bellefonte, formerly of Sacheen Lake, Wash., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at Centre Crest Nursing Home. Born on March 24, 1917, in Sumner, Iowa, she is the daughter of the late Gay C. and Martha Clifford Austin. On Dec. 7, 1934, in Spokane, Wash., she married Lt. Col. (Ret) Russell E. Addis, who died in 1976. Estella attended North Central High School in Spokane, Wash. She was a homemaker. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn L. Valentine, of Spokane, Wash.; one son, Kent R. Addis and his wife, Mary, of Bellefonte; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Bergeron, of Seattle, Wash. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Estella was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans, where she was a past president of the Washington/Alaska Chapter. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Fairmont Memorial Park in Spokane, Wash. Memorial contributions can be made to Centre Crest Nursing Home, 502 E. Howard St., Bellefonte, PA 16823 or to Eagle Valley Personal Care Home, 420 Railroad St., Milesburg, PA 16853. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service Inc. in Bellefonte.
