Freeborn Garrettson Luckey
Was the son of Famous REV. Samuel LUCKEY he was named after Samuel's friend and elder the famous Methodist Rev. Freeborn GARRETTSON 1752-1827.
F.G.L. practiced Law in Rochester, Monroe County, NY in 1847 and lived near his family at 16 Mortimer ST.

Freeborn Garrettson Luckey was Born May 26, 1819 in Troy, NY Left college during junior year. 1839-1940, Studied Law in the office of David GRAHAM JR. in New York, NY. In 1840 he was admitted to the Bar in NY. NY 1841-1881, Practiced law in NY NY 1851 became a member of New York State Assembly.
1840 Married Mary G. BRUSH of NY, NY Children, Jesse B, Samuel F. Emma V. and Fred G. JR. address in 1881 was Concord Ave. near 165th St. New York N.Y.

Col. Freeborn Garrison (Sp.) LUCKEY, eighty years old and a well known Lawyers twenty years ago, died at his residence, 116 East One Hundred and Twenty sixth Street, Monday after a brief illness. Mr. Luckey came of Old New England stock and was born at Troy NY. He was a graduated from Cambridge University with honors. He came to this city when a young man and organized the Law Firm of Luckey and Adams. He served as Secretary to Mayor Harper. He was also a Colonel in the old Seventy first Regiment. He retired about 1877. Three Sons survive him. The burial will be in St. Michaels Cemetery this morning
