He was predeceased by his parents, Fredrick and Jane Leonard; a sister, Jane Swartwood; and a brother, Charles Leonard. He is survived by his sisters, Maureen Rhodes, Binghamton, Judy Deats, Hampstead, N.C.; and sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Tom Macko, Hampstead, N.C.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frederick and Dee Leonard, Conn., Michael and Cindy Leonard, Va.; and brother, William Leonard, Binghamton; sister-in-law, Peggy Vavrina, Chenango Bridge; 21 nieces and nephews, 20 great-nieces and nephews. Ross was a graduate of Chenango Valley High School, Broome Community College, and South Hampton University of Long Island. He retired after 35 years of service from Kmart Corp.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at St. Christopher's Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. The family will receive their friends on Tuesday, from 4-7 at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson. Friends wishing are asked to make donations in his memory to St. Christopher Parish, 103 Castle Creek Rd., Binghamton, N.Y. 13901; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
