HUCKABY, LOIS GARRETT Lois Garrett Huckaby, age 99 of Shelby County, left this walk of life May 5, 2013. She was born October 27, 1913 and was a 1930 graduate of Mortimer Jordan High School. She was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church. She will be missed by her family and friends who loved and cared for her. She was preceded in death by father, Clint Garrett and mother, Lula Graham Garrett; special nephew, Wade McConnell; brother, Porter Garrett; sisters, Frankie Mae Garrett, Alice Hardin, Ethel Keith, Bertha McConnell, Mildred (Bill) Reeser; and husband, James W. Huckaby, Jr. She is survived by nieces, Sandra Keith Stith and Joan Reeser Harding; nephew, Doug Reeser and niece Margean Woodard of Riverside, Calif.; along with a host of great nieces and nephews. A special thank you for her caretakers at Covenant Place and Hope Hospice who looked after her. A celebration of her life was held Tuesday, May 7th at 11 AM with graveside services at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
