Edward Wayne Belz passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021.

Ed was born in Taylor, Texas on November 2, 1944 and graduated from Taylor High School in 1963.

He was drafted into the Army, completed basic training in Fort Polk, LA, became Chaplain's assistant in the National Guard and continued active in the reserves for many years.

After graduating Durham Nixon Clay Business College in Austin, Texas, he began a career in the office products and printing industry at Bairs'. Ed and his wife Jan later purchased the business and operated it for over 35 years. He was an astute businessman who was loved by his many faithful customers.

Ed worked hard and played just as hard. Fishing…something he grew up enjoying, eventually becoming an experienced and avid bass fisherman. Many unforgettable memories were made with Jan, the kids and friends on fishing trips to local lakes and, very often, to Lake Amistad. He was a founding member of Round Rock Bass Club and taught many friends and family how to fish which was a source of great enjoyment. Music….all kinds and all the time!

Whether it was poker, dominoes, bowling, or shooting pool, he was sure to give you a run for your money- often times taking it in a bet. Golf was something he learned to love & play later in life. He spent lots of time on the course & met many great friends. Sharp tongue and quick wit…never boring, you always hoped for the latter. Ed loved his family and friends!

Ed is survived by his wife Jan Belz; daughter, Shelley Gill (James); son Stephen Belz (Missy); stepson Eddie Shell (Lisa); grandchildren Parker Gill, Jody, Chip & Mia Belz; step grandchildren Ruby, Julia and Hunter Shell; other family & friends.

Ed joins loved ones in heaven; his parents Edward William Belz & Evelyn "Tootsie" Winters Belz, brother Jimmy Ray, daughter Katherine Ann, and grandson Jace Gill.

Pallbearers are Jerry Bogle, James Gill, Lloyd Joubert, Mike Olson, David Swayze, & Wayne Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Parker Gill, Jody, Mia & Chip Belz.
