Dennis Lee Asper, 70, of Mustang, Oklahoma, died in an Oklahoma City hospital on Monday, October 11, 2021. Dennis was born June 23, 1951 in Mangum, Oklahoma and grew up in Frederick, Oklahoma, where he was a graduate of Frederick High School in 1969. Dennis married Jerry Ann Rodgers, the love of his life, on August 7 1971 in Oklahoma City. He received a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from UCO. Dennis was an Oklahoma City Police Officer from 1973 to 2002 until he retired as a Lieutenant. Dennis and Jerry Ann had been residents of Mustang since 1983, and attend Lakehoma Church of Christ. Dennis loved spending time with his family and friends, reading, shooting, and having coffee with the Coffee Crew. He was a Scout Master for many years, where he loved teaching the kids camping, fishing, and hunting skills. Dennis was also a great Christian example to his children, grandchildren, and those around him. He was survived by his wife Jerry Ann of the home; two daughters, Kristina Ann Scott and husband Jeremy of Gracemont, Oklahoma, Melissa Lee Smith and husband Marcus of Oklahoma City; a son, John Charles Asper of Mustang; and two grandchildren Hayden and Heath; and his sister, Sylvia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Frances Asper; and a sister, Mary Ellen. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, 15 October, at Lakehoma Church of Christ in Mustang. Dennis was a camper, staff, and served on the Board of Directors for Camp Lu-Jo KISMIF for many years.
