Milly Ann (Holloway) Heath was the daughter of John Holloway b. 1 Jan 1809 KY and his wife Nancy Kemp Foster b. 13 Feb1809 SC who had married 28 Oct 1830 in Morgan Co. IL. Milly Ann Holloway married 15 Nov 1852 in Santa Maria, CA, Callaway Green Heath, the son of (Rev) Jonas Blue Heath and Margaret Preston Barrett. Milly and Callaway lived in Tom Twp, Benton Co MO prior to moving out to early California.

Milly's father John Holloway born 1809 was in the Black Hawk War of 1832 in IL before he came to Benton Co MO in Feb 1832. He was a Captain in Co E, 2nd Regiment, MO Mounted Volunteers who enrolled 22 July 1846 in Benton Co. MO and mustered into service 30 July 1846 at Ft Leavenworth. This would be for the Mexican Campaign. He also served on the Union side in the Civil War and was listed as a pensioner on the 1883 list of pensioners. It said he was disabled by ‘gunshot upper arm.

John H. Holloway 1 Jan 1809 in Clark Co. KY and died 6 June 1853 in Utah. His parents were (another) John Holloway born 17 Jan 1764 Culpepper Co VA and his wife Millie Bunch who had married 30 Dec 1791 in Mercer Co. KY. They had 8 children, all born in Clark Co. KY. Milly's father John was 2nd to the youngest. John Holloway the father born 1764 died 17 Sept 1844 in Scott County, IL.

A death notice in the CA newspaper Santa Maria Times Oct 21 1893 simply said:
Died In Cat Canyon Oct 14 1893 Mrs. M.A. Heath, wife of C.G. Heath, aged 59 years, 7 months and 23 days.

The obituary for Milly Ann Heath, Callaway G. Heath's wife from the Benton County
Enterprise in 1893. Note that it was Rev J.L. Burchard (sister Louisa Heath's husband John L. Burchard, officiating at the funeral for Millie.)

Died--in Santa Barbara, California, her last home on earth, October 14,
1893, Milley Ann Heath, daughter of Capt. John H. and Nancy Holloway.
Born in Benton County and raised to young womanhood here and, with her
parents, emigrated to California in 1849 and settled in Sutter County.
Married to Callaway G. Heath, Rev. J. L. Burchard officiating, at her
mother's home on November 5, 1854 and, with her husband, returned to
Benton County early in 1855 and settled on her father's old
homestead, then owned by her husband, where she lived happily until
1863. As a result of the war, her home was abandoned for some time and
the family resided at other localities until 1865, when the family
returned to their old precious home in Benton County in 1872. They
went to Cross Timbers then, and, in 1887, emigrated to California and
settled in Santa Barbara. She was the mother of ten children, eight of
whom survive her. As a wife, she was model in every sense of the word.
As a mother, kind, patient and forebearing. Her body laid to rest by
the side of her mother, husband and children. (My note: Although it lists
they were married in 1854 this cannot be correct due to the date of their
childrens births.)

A local obituary for Milly Ann Heath from California, read:
"Mrs. M.A. Heath, wife of C.G. Heath, died Oct 14 at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Richardson in Cat Canyon after a long and painful illness. Her maiden name was Holloway. She was born in Benton Co. MO Feb 22 1834, consequently was nearly sixty years of age. She was married to Mr. Heath in 1854, who survives her, together with eight children to mourn her loss. Two children had preceded her to the spirit world. Her body was tenderly laid to rest in the La Graciosa cemetery Sunday, Oct 16, to await the Great Resurrection. Just four weeks before she died the writer of this notice took her confession and baptized her as she greatly desired to obey the gospel before departing this life. This step has been contemplated for many years and was only deferred partly from lack of opportunity and partly with the hope that some of her friends would join her in this act of obedience to the Savior.--J.W. Kelsey
