Obituary
Carla Y. Aiken, was born in Wilmington, Delaware on February 27, 1965, to the late Willie B. Word and Beulah Saunders. She departed this life October 12 2021, at her home in Wilmington, DE.

Carla received her early education in the public schools of Delaware, including Wilmington Manor Elementary and George Read Middle where she started to play sports like volleyball and basketball and continued to play at William Penn High School.

Several of Carla's nieces and nephews played basketball because of her. She played softball for Shady Ladies. Carla was an all-around sports player. Let's not forget that she could shoot your lights out in pool.

Carla was baptized at Pilgrim Baptist Church. She may not have attended church every day, but she had a relationship with God, and she read her bible faithfully. She was always telling her children that she is not afraid to die because she knows Jesus and she has a relationship with God and that they better get a relationship.

Carla moved to Chester, Pa in 1993 and in 1995 she met her life partner Roger Morgan. This union of 25 years was inseparable. Carla loved her some Roger and he loves her very much!!

Carla was currently employed as a manager of the Dollar Tree which she loved.

Carla was loved by her entire family and community. Carla loved all her grandchildren; no matter what they did, no one could discipline them but her. Carla was a special person not only to her family and her baby daddies lol.

Carla was preceded into death by her parents Willie B. Word and Beulah Saunders, her maternal grandmother Sarah Johnson, her brothers Norris Saunders, Sr. and Harry Saunders, Sr, her sister Avon Saunders, her granddaughter Kimora Smith and her grandson Karter Saunders.
