JENNINGS HILL
Mrs. Rissie Hill of Falls Mills, Va. was called to Matewan on July 9, 1954 by the death of her brother-in-law, Jennings Hill, who had been seriously ill for some time in a hospital in Spencer.
He was born October 9, 1897, at Coopers, the son of James Frank and Maggie Crockett Hill who preceded him in death.
He was a veteran of WWI and was a member of the UMWA.
Survivors include his wife, Missouri Bell Hill; one son, Jack Hill; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Fields, all of Matewan; one brother Richard Hill of Gary No. 6; and three sisters, Mrs. Fred Curley, Mrs. Condy Hopkins, both of Gary No. 6, and Mrs. T.W. Reese of Columbus, Oh.
An aunt, Mrs. Mary Jane Hill Perdue of Brushfork, who is in her nineties, also survives.
He was a member of the Holiness Church for many years.
Ball Funeral Home of Williamson was in charge of arrangements.
The funeral was held at the home of his son, Jack, and interment was in the Sprigg Cemetery.
