Phyllis Ann Addis Phyllis Addis, 71, of Lindsay, CA, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2014, in Tulare, CA. She was born in Checotah, OK, on December 13, 1943, to Opal and Les Bennett. She was raised in Bakersfield, California, where she met her husband, Richard, at Bakersfield High. They went on to have three children and seven grandchildren together during their 53 year marriage. She and her husband raised their family in Lemon Cove, CA. In 1974 Phyllis and Richard bought the Green Olive in Visalia, CA, which has been their fourth child since that time. Phyllis was a fantastic cook who also loved to read and travel. Her favorite trips to take were to Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe. In 1988 Phyllis started a family tradition of vacationing with her husband and children in Lake Tahoe every summer. It started with the original five and has now blossomed to include her children's spouses, grandchildren and close family friends. That tradition and the memories made in Tahoe are gifts she gave her family that will go on for generations. She was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Bennett; father, Les Bennett; and brother, Steve Bennett. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Richard Addis; her children and their spouses; Leslie and Joe Stewart of Exeter, CA; Rich and Michelle Addis of Portland, OR; Erika and Derek Hughes of Bakersfield, CA, and her grandchildren Brooke Addis, Breanne Banuelos, Keeley Addis, Nathaniel Stewart, Brady Banuelos, Elizabeth Stewart and Evan Stewart; her sister, Diana Ingle and her family of Bakersfield, CA. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at the Exeter Woman's Club, 201 North Kaweah Ave. A memorial tribute may be offered by logging onto www. salseranddillard.com
