Cookie was my good pal.I adopted her and brought her home and Butch took care of her just like a mother.She always wanted to get petted and loved.
Cookie was very stockie and looked really mean but she
wasnt.She acted like a big baby and was very gentle..When she got older,there wasnt a time I could go outside and she would follow me around the yard and just sit there and stare at me.
Her first litter of puppies was a pretty big one.Cookie was not even a year old.I think out of 13 pups,10 survived.She was a good mother.She got baby-sitters to help.Her 2nd litter of puppies,she was three(3) years old.She ran under the house and had them.There were ten(10)puppies.One was so huge,it was stillborn.This puppy was like twice the size of a normal size pup.Once the puppies were put in the doghouse,she went there to feed them.She looked really weak and wanted to lay in the driveway for some reason.I took her to the Vet and she liked the ride.The Vet said she had a hard time and to give her plenty of water.That was it so I brought her home and gave her just that and food to gain her strength up.That very night,I went out to check on her and the puppies and saw her half way out of the house with the puppies attached to her.She had died.She had less than a day to spend with her puppies.Crying and having to bury her and having to run to the store at midnight to get the puppy milk to feed her pups.Made a little space for them in the house and fed them,washed them so they could relieve themselves and kept them warm.Feeding them with the baby bottles for pets was like every 3-4 hours.Had to call in some help so they could all get fed quick and not have to wait.
When the puppies reached the age of 5 weeks,they all got homes and I kept one and named her Prissy.She looks and acts just like her Mom but thinks I am Mom.Butch had a fun time playing with the puppies.Butch would run from them and they would all run after him.Talk about the cutest sight.
Cookie was a really good friend and she is really loved and missed.
