Doyle was born on September 10, 1948, in Martin, Kentucky to Leon and Edna (Kidd) Greer. He attended school in Kentucky and moved to Michigan when he was 18 years old.
Doyle started working at St. Regis Paper Company which changed its name to Waldorf and later would retired from Rock 10 Paper Company after 40 years. Prior to that he worked at Schuler's in Marshall. Doyle enjoyed traveling and trying different cuisines. His main joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by four children, Lisa Bailey, Dale (Marcie) Greer, Laura Greer, and Angela (Richard) Compton; eight grandchildren, Mickey, Jordan, Justin, Dillon, Morgan, Jewel, Celia, Mariah. Nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Billy Greer, Bobby Greer, Leroy Greer, James Greer, Carlotta Williams, Vickie Hall, Marcy Greer, and Becky Boyd. He was preceded by his parents; grandchildren, Paige McMillon and Tylar Greer; and siblings, Timothy Greer, Sue Greer, Johnny "Bear"Greer, and Judy Greer.
