Norman F. Klopp, Sr., was an electrical engineer for Westinghouse in Sharon, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, for many years. He was the son of Dr. John Adam Klopp and Eva Lena Russell Klopp. He was the husband of Beatrice Ellen Bunning Klopp, who survived him by 14 years. He was the father of Patience Beatrice Klopp, who preceded her parents in death, Kathleen Doris Klopp, and Norman Francis Klopp, Jr. He was the brother of Russell Klopp, Beulah Eva Klopp Dege, and Mildred B. Klopp Sands, all of whom preceded him in death.

He was a veteran of the 144th Engineers, 11th Company, in the United States Army during World War I and was honorably discharged a corporal.

He was a descendant of Martinus Walborn, Sr., his fourth great grandfather, and only one of his many ancestors that were veterans of the American Revolutionary War.
