Maria was born about 1850 or 1851 in Salt Creek Township, Franklin County, Indiana. This is 65 miles SE of Indianapolis. Her parents were Wesley Throckmorton (1828-1866) and Elizabeth Brown Throckmorton (1824-1885). Her three brothers were, John, Charles and Wesley, Jr. and two sisters Tamson and Anna. A baby brother Nathaniel died when he was one year old.

Maria married Henry C. Wolf on January 31, 1867 in Franklin County, IN. In the 1870 Census they had two children and were living with her mother, Elizabeth Throckmorton, along with her three brothers.

But, by the 1880 Census in the family was living in Webster County, NE. Her mother moved to be with them about 1882 and she died in 1885.

Maria and Henry had 11 children, three of them died before they were 12 (Susannah, Infant Son, and Ida J.). The remaining children were William, John, George, Charles, Ira, Lizzie, Josephine, and Omar.

In 1899, when she was 49, she started experiencing some type of long-term illness. She died in 1908 when she was only 58 years old.

Not listed in Find A Grave is John Henry Wolf. He was born on November 28, 1871 in Salt Creek Township, Franklin County, Indiana and he died May 16, 1953 in Seattle, Washington. Also not listed is Ira Franklin Wolfe who was born on January 29, 1877 in Franklin County, Indiana and who died on November 14, 1960 in Rexford, Kansas.
