In "Stand Firm Ye Boys from Maine: The 20th Maine and the Gettysburg Campaign" by Thomas A. Desjardin, the author says that Moses was from Caribou, Aroostook County, Maine, was 68 inches tall, a farmer, and 24 years old. It says that Moses was "wounded mortally, died July 3 and buried near the Beitler House. A thanksgiving book was found on his body."
According to the Adjutant General's Report - "the Return of Captain Isaac H. McDonald's Co. C" made on the field on the morning of December 1st, 1863 about the status of the 20th. The record listed Moses as dying of wounds on July 3rd, being 34 years of age at the time of death, and being from Lyndon (Caribou), Maine.
