The funeral of Mrs. John Egan of Madison, who passed away August 2nd at the St. Joseph hospital in Dodgeville, took place from the St. Philip's Catholic church in this city last Monday, August 4th, the remains having been brought to the home of her son Elwin on Sunday evening. Mrs. Egan leaves five children to mourn her passing - Elwin of this place, Howard and Miss Bertha of Madison, and Mrs. Dora Richter and Mrs. Belle Winkers of Livingston - all of whom, save for the later, who was prevented by illness, were present at the last rites. She was a resident of this place until her removal to Madison for the purpose of educating her younger son and and daughter, and was esteemed and respected by all her old townspeople. The Woman's Catholic Order of Foresters, of which the good lady was a member, marched in a body at the funeral. Internment was made at the Irish Catholic cemetery. The bereaved have the sympathy of the community in their loss.
