She was married to James Goldsmith about the year 1859, and lived with him until January 27th last, when he died. In 1871, they moved to Kansas, locating in Osage county near Lyndon, where they have made their home ever since.
To this union 8 children were born, of whom 6 are still living. Those living are: W. J. Goldsmith of Melvern; Fred and Lee Goldsmith of Lyndon; James Goldsmith of Miller; Louis Goldsmith of Sequim, WA; and Mrs. Bertha Jones of Colorado. All were present at the funeral except the last 2 named, they being detained by distance.
The funeral was held at the Baptist Church, of which the deceased had long been a member, on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Reverand C. E. Hatfield and the body was laid to rest in the Lyndon cemetery beside the body of her husband.
