Betty Jean Kay passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on the 20th of October, 2021 at her home in Murray, UT. Betty was born on October 1, 1939 in Salt Lake City to Edward and Norma Blair. She married Vaughn Kay on October 25th of 1957 and later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple in February 27th of 2021. Betty fought valiantly through various health problems and illnesses for the last 3.5 years, but no matter what, she never stopped fighting. She is our Wonder Woman. She was an amazing woman who inspired so many. She enjoyed visits to St. George and the family cabin. She loved spending time with all of her family including her 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Betty was preceded in death by her son Charles, and her two daughters Cindy and Patty; her parents Edward and Norma; and her sister Fern Ju. She is survived by her husband Vaughn Kay; her sister Cheryl Blair; her son in laws Jim Hendrickson and John Coones; her grandchildren Terra (Joe) Newton, Kimberly (Scott) Atkinson, Vaughn (Sharleen) Hendrickson, Shawn (Jessica) Hendrickson, Katrina Atkinson, Alex Atkinson and Jordan Coones; her great-grandchildren Anthony Perez, Tyler (Madysen) Newton, Jessica Romero, Christian Perez, Dylan Hendrickson, Jasmine Romeo, Carter Hendrickson, Calvin Hendrickson, Alyssa Hendrickson, Gabriela Perez, Autumn Hendrickson, Mayan, Nino, and Logan Hendrickson; and her great-great-grandchild Lacy Newton. A viewing will take place at the Murray 29th Ward Chapel located at 6300 South 700 West, Murray, Utah on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 11 AM. A graveside will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park located at 3401 South Highland Drive in Millcreek, Utah.
