A 42-year-old Rochester woman died at the hospital after a three-vehicle wreck in south Thurston County Monday evening, according to Washington State Patrol.

The other drivers and a passenger were not injured, according to State Patrol.

About 6:40 p.m. Monday, the Rochester woman was headed west on U.S. 12 at Huntington Street, between Rochester and Grand Mound. A 16-year-old female driver and her passenger were headed in the same direction.

Troopers say the Rochester woman slowed to take a left turn onto southbound Huntington Street and was hit by the 16-year-old. That spun the Rochester woman's vehicle into the eastbound lane where it struck a Rochester man driving east.

Troopers say the cause of the crash was distracted driving.

The road was partially blocked for nearly two hours.
