MEGAN DONAVON GUENTHNER CLARK
January 18, 1978 - October 19, 2021

OBITUARY
Megan Donavon Guenthner Clark - 1978-2021

After a five year dance with cancer, Megan Donavon Guenthner Clark of Sigourney passed away peacefully on October 19, 2021 at the Keokuk County Hospital. Megan was born on January 18, 1978 in Omaha, Nebraska. She spent her childhood in Papillion, Nebraska and was a member of the 1996 graduating class from Papillion-LaVista High School. She was an avid artist throughout her life and a soccer player from age 8 through JV in high school. She went off to Marine boot camp at Paris Island in 2002. After living for a time in Gulf Shores, Alabama and then in Clearwater, Florida, Megan moved to Sigourney with her then 2 and 3 year old sons in March of 2011. She fell in love with the town as much as the town fell in love with her. Megan was an artist by trade and exhibited her works at various large arts festivals around the Midwest. Her artwork and art creations adorn countless homes and business and the dove artwork she created in honor of the victims of the Sandy Hook school shootings in 2012 now hangs in the Newton, Connecticut city hall. Megan lived her life out loud with no apologies. Megan believed that there were no strangers, only people she had not yet met. She spent most of her time focused on her boys and finding ways to help others that needed help of any kind.

Megan is survived by her sons Wells (14) and Owen (13), her parents Christie and Gary Iosbaker of Sigourney and Dave Guenthner (Gale) of Omaha; sister Teri Vermillion of Georgetown, Tx; sister Heather Sciford of Sigourney; brother Scott Guenthner (Cynthia) of Denver; sister Kellie Schwab (John) of Brownwood, TX; brother Ben Guenthner (Mindy) of Omaha, NE; brother Nick Guenthner of Omaha, NE; and sister Aly Guenthner of Omaha, NE; Grandmother Jackie Iosbaker of Sigourney; and a wonderful collection of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. And a million friends.

A public Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 23 from 3-7 p.m. at the Sigourney Golf and Country Club. Megan's family and friends encourage you to dress creatively in bright colors and mismatched clothing in Meg's honor. In lieu of flowers the family requests your donation to the Sigourney Schools Art Department in Megan's honor. If anyone would like to donate physical art supplies, there will be a table at the Celebration of Life for both monetary donations in her name or for physical art supplies.
A private family funeral service will be held. The service will be posted on the Powell Funeral Home facebook page. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Sigourney is caring for Megan and her family. Tributes may be made at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
