OBITUARY OF CAROLYN H. TESSIEN
Carolyn H. Tessien, 90, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. Elizabeth's Healthcare in Utica. She was born in Hecla, NY, on November 5, 1930, to the late Omar and Mary (Berger) Haynes. She was a graduate of Westmoreland High School and on July 19, 1958, she was united in marriage to William R. Tessien.

Carolyn worked at Revere Copper and Brass for a short time before deciding to stay at home and raise her children. She sold Avon products for over 40 years and owned Carolyn's Corner Square Dance Shop. She was a communicant at St. Paul's Church in Rome.

Surviving besides her loving husband of 62 years, Bill, are two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Ronald House and Donna and Donald Van Dresar; a son and daughter-in-law, William T, and Cynthia Tessien; three sisters, Theresa Shortell, Jane Rieben and Pauline Kraeger; seven cherished grandchildren, Andrea House, Lisa Cast (Ian), Genya Tessien, William R. Tessien, Thomas Tessien, Dylan Van Dresar and Erin Van Dresar; a great-grandson on the way and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, May 6th at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Church, 1807 Bedford St., Rome.
