(1925 - 2009)

Mark E. Peterik, age 83, formerly of 416 Park Lane, Mishicot, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at the North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc.

Mark was born Sept. 18, 1925, in Shoto to the late Emil and Marie Hall Peterik. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of 1943. He served his country in the U.S. Marines, entering service in August 1943 and was honorably discharged in January 1946. He married Virginia Kohlmeier and later married Elaine Yanda in 1958. After her death, he then married Mary Ann Reimmer in 1998. Mark was employed as an auto mechanic and worked in construction all of his working life. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot and also belonged to the Mishicot VFW Kempen-Staudinger-Terens Post No. 7753, the Two Rivers American Legion, the AMVETS and to the Cooties. He also was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 139.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann, one daughter, Kathleen Stelter, of Manitowoc, five sons and three daughters-in-law, Edward Peterik and his wife, Judy Weisbrook, of Mishicot, Cory and Sue Peterik of Manitowoc, Alan and Linda Peterik of Whitelaw, Leon Peterik of Green Bay, and David Peterik of Two Rivers; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is further survived by seven stepchildren, Michael and Mary Lee Konitzer of Manitowoc, David Gates of Beloit, James and Roxanne Gates of Manitowoc, John and Lynne Scherer of Two Rivers, Debra Perry of Manitowoc, Paul Gates of Mishicot and his special friend Karen Mueller of Manitowoc, John and Tammy Leiker of Manitowoc, his step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, one sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Woody Aulik of Francis Creek. Mark also is survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Bette Rosinsky of Manitowoc, Paul and Arlene Rosinsky of Two Rivers, JoAnn Schuh of Colorado, Judy and Lloyd Kaye of Manitowoc, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his second wife, Elaine Yanda, and one sister, Delores Kornely.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, with the Rev. Paul Paider officiating, with burial to follow in the Forest View Cemetery in Two Rivers. Relatives and friends may call after 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Following the Mass there will be military rites accorded by the Mishicot VFW Kempen-Staudinger-Terens Post No. 7753. There will be no Friday evening visitation.

The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the Peterik family with funeral arrangements.
