Kenney Olm, age 94, die peacefully on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the Manitowoc Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, as a result of several health issues compounded by a hip fracture on October 5th. He was born September 29, 1927 to Ferdinand and Hilda (Fiedler) Olm in Sheboygan Falls.

He was a 1945 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. While in high school, he formed Kenney Olm and his Orchestra with a number of high school friends, and played polka and big band music for numerous weddings, picnics and barn raisings in the area during its 19 years of existence.

On October 27, 1951 he married Maureen A. Schaefer of Howards Grove. They had two children; Randall K. and Rosemary K. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage until Maureen predeceased him in January 2008.

After high school, he continued to work on the family farm and started a milk can hauling route in the Osman area to transport farmers milk to the Lake to Lake dairy in Kiel.

He then began his sales career in the farm equipment business working for Hingiss Implement and Puetz Motors in Kiel. In 1957 he purchased the Ford tractor and farm implement franchise in Howards Grove from Kuester and Burhop which he operated as Kenney Olm Implement Company. In addition to Ford farm equipment, he was an early dealer and installer of bulk milk tanks in the area as farmers converted from can milk transport to bulk transport.

He and Maureen operated this business until 1963 when he sold the Ford Tractor franchise to Hugo Imig. He intended to purchase the Ford Automotive franchise from Kuester and Burhop, but that deal fell through when Ford Motor Co refused to allow the transfer. Ford Motor Co wanted the dealership moved to Sheoygan in a big new building, which Kenney was unwilling to undertake.

Kenney then moved on to serve as General Manager of the John Miller Implement Co. and the Miller Pontiac auto dealership in St. Nazianz until December, 1969.

In January of 1970 he began his career with Fox Valley Harvestore, which later became Lakeside Harvestore. He sold A O Smith Harvestore Storage Structures and feeding equipment in Manitowoc County and parts of Calumet County. Maureen actively assisted as his office assistant and event planner.

Kenney was the number one National sales person for A O Smith Harvestore products in 1978 and 1979. He also was recognized for various other yearly awards.

Kenney and Maureen retired in 1986 spending winter months at their home in Mesa, Az and summers at their Cedar Lake cottage outside of Kiel.

They were active members of St. Peter's UCC, Kiel, WI and Apache Wells Community Church in Mesa, AZ, serving in various leadership roles at both churches.

They participated in several dance clubs and many card clubs in the area, during their time together.

After Maureen's passing, special friend Jola Schwinn came into his life until her passing in March, 2014.

Special friend Jennifer Kieselhorst has stood by his side for the past 7 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Maureen, special friend Jola Schwinn, Brothers in law Roger Laack and John Schaefer, and Sisters in law Marion Schaefer and Jane Dent.
