BENNIE L. ALLEY
A memorial gathering will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, in the Alley family home at 395 S. 20th Ave., Cornelius, for Bennie L. Alley, who died Oct. 14 of emphysema at age 70.
Mr. Alley was born April 6, 1930, in Goff, Kan., and moved to Bend and then Portland, where he attended Parkrose High School. He worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation for 42 years, retiring in 1992 after 10 years as its Manning supervisor. He lived in Glenwood for 36 years before moving to Cornelius in 1988. In 1949, he married Beverly Logerwell.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Janet Brooks and Joann Cole; brother, Ron; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Interment was in Mountain View Memorial Gardens. The family suggests remembrances to the American Lung Association. Arrangements were by Forest Grove Memorial Chapel.
