Information obtained from the book: "The Bemis History and Genealogy" Being an account, in greater part of the Descendants of Joseph Bemis of Watertown, MA. Written by Colonel Thomas Waln-Morgan Draper; also researcher Steven L. Dahlstrom and the Weston, MA Old Town Records

John was the the only child of John Bemis (1686 - 1754; find a grave # 17509441) and Hannah Warren, who was the daughter of Daniel Warren and Elizabeth Whitney.

In 1758, John is listed as one of the men from Weston who enlisted or who were impressed for his Majesty's service within the Province of Massachusetts Bay to serve under Jeffrey Amherst, general and Commander-in-Chief for the Invasion of Canada, 1758.

John married Hannah Warren, daughter of Daniel Warren and Hannah Bigelow, on February 16, 1731. Their 12 children are listed below.

Lydia Bemis (1741 - ?) - It is believed that she married John Munroe on 4/13/1762.

Sarah Bemis (1748 - ?) It is believed she married Elisha Cox Jr on 10/20/1768.
Henry Bemis (1751 - 1833) Spelled his last name as "Bemies"
Jeduthan Bemis (1753 - 1828)
Mary Bemis (1755 - ?) It is believed that she married William Cary on 4/30/1778.
Daniel Bemis (1758 - 1832) It is believed that he fought in the Revolutionary War in the 37th Regiment.

His wife, Hannah married Samuel Bathrick or (Bartharick) Jr. of Townsend on November 27, 1790. She is listed as "Hannah Bathrick" in Case #1 -Probate File 1535, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, John Bemis, 1807.
In the Probate case, it states that his youngest son, Daniel inherited the farm and homestead.
There is also Case #2 - Town of Woburn v Bemis, et al.
